Our Wholesale Diamond Database

wholesale loose diamondsWe have recently received quite a few questions regarding Our Wholesale Diamond Database. We would like to do our best to answer those here, in advance. Hopefully you will find the answer to any questions you may have in this article. If you do not, please always feel free to ask a question before making your purchase. Our new "True Wholesale Diamond Prices" are the lowest you will find anywhere, by far. Since all of the diamonds listed in our searchable diamond database are listed at our wholesale cost, it is virtually impossible for you to find a lower price on a diamond, ANYWHERE. The only way you could find a lower price on a diamond is if the company selling you the diamond, actually lost money on the diamond. They would have to sell it to you for less than their cost, and that is VERY UNLIKELY to happen.

To our knowledge, there is not a single company selling diamonds anywhere, for their "True Wholesale Cost" except us. This is truly a unique program we have started to offer our customers, and probably the best way to buy a brand new diamond engagement ring at a substantial discount. You will save money with this program and not have to sacrifice on anything. You are in complete control as to how much you want to spend on the center diamond. You are in complete control as far as what type of certified diamond you buy. You can buy a GIA, EGL, Independent certification, no certification, type of diamond from the database, and we will acquire the diamond from the wholesaler for you, and then sell it to you at our cost.

So we will list a few of the most common questions here and then answer them for you. Hopefully this will help our customers to fully understand this program.

SecretDiamond's Wholesale Diamond Database FAQ's

1) Do all of the diamonds listed in the database, belong to you?
2) Are the diamonds listed in your database certified by GIA?
3) Can I buy just the diamond from you?
4) Why should I bother buying my diamond engagement ring this way?
5) I see that your pictures include a center diamond in them. Does this mean that the center diamond is included in the cost?
6) Are any of the diamonds listed in your database, "Enhanced" in any way?
7) If you are selling me the diamond for your true wholesale cost, how are you making any money and what is the catch?
8) What information do I need to give to you?
9) Do you charge shipping on your loose diamonds? What about duties, taxes, and customs?
10) Why are we selling our diamonds wholesale and not making a profit on them?
11) Can I purchase just a loose diamond and get the same price if I buy one of your solitaire settings?
12) How do I know that you are selling your diamonds for wholesale cost, how do I know they are cheaper?
13) I'm sad because the setting I want is on another site but their center diamond prices are too high?
14) If I buy a diamond and an engagement ring setting from your business, do you set the center diamond for me?

1) Do all of the diamonds listed in the database, belong to you?

NO they do not. As a matter of fact, none of them do. The diamonds listed in the database come from many different wholesalers located throughout the country.

2) Are the diamonds listed in your database certified by GIA?

Some of them are, but not all of them. The type of certification that is included with each diamond is listed in the "Details" section for that diamond. Please look for this information. Some of the diamonds are certified by EGL, some are certified by GIA, some of them are certified by small independent laboratories, and some of them may not be certified at all. If you do not see any type of certification listed for that diamond, then you have to assume that it is not certified. If the certification listed for that diamond says "Other", than you will have to assume that it is not certified by GIA or EGL, and is most likely certified by a smaller independent laboratory. If you find a diamond that you are interested in but are unclear about the type of certification that it holds, please do not hesitate to contact us. We will call the wholesaler and have it clarified for you.

3) Can I buy just the diamond from you?

Yes you can. However you may not buy just a loose diamond from our database at our cost, if you do not buy one of our designer settings as well. Our settings are how we make our profit. If you wish to buy just the loose diamond from our database, we will still make our best effort to sell it to you for less than anyone else will, but we will have to add a markup to the cost of the diamond. The percentage that we markup the diamond, will vary depending upon the cost of the diamond, and we determine that on a "case by case" basis. Diamonds that are more expensive will typically be marked up less than cheaper diamonds. THAT'S BECAUSE FOR EXAMPLE: 15% of $10,000 is $1,500, as opposed to 15% of $1,000 is $150. Although we are more than happy to make just a modest profit, we do have to make a profit. Please keep in mind that if you pay using a credit card or bank debit card, we will have to pay credit card processing fees on your sale. This can range between 2.5% to as much as 5% of the total cost. This cost will be added on to the cost of your sale. A good way to save this amount, is to pay with a bank wire transfer. We can provide you with those details. If you are interested in just a loose diamond, please make a note of the stock number for that diamond, and call us. We will work with you to sell you that diamond for the lowest price possible. However we reserve the right to not sell a diamond if we determine that it is not in our best interest to do so.

4) Why should I bother buying my diamond engagement ring this way?

This is certainly one of the best ways to save money on your diamond engagement ring. In many cases, the amount of money you save on the center diamond can exceed the cost of the setting we are selling. It is literally like getting the engagement setting for free. Although we realize that this program may not be able to satisfy every single person on the face of the planet, most people in the market to buy a diamond engagement ring will save a lot of money on a Top Quality, diamond engagement ring. It also offers you more control over the buying process. You are the boss when it comes to how much you want to spend, or save on your diamond engagement ring. Just don't forget to add the cost of the diamond to the cost of the setting.

5) I see that your pictures include a center diamond in them. Does this mean that the center diamond is included in the cost?

No the center diamond is not included in most cases. The cost you see is for the setting itself, with the diamonds in the setting, but not the center diamond. That is just placed in the setting for the purpose of letting you see what it could look like. We do it for "Visualization purposes only." The only exception to this rule for now, is on our "Pre-Made Solitaires." If you read the description very carefully for each ring, it will tell you if the center diamond is included or not.

6) Are any of the diamonds listed in your database, "Enhanced" in any way?

No they are not enhanced in any way. We have made it very clear to the suppliers that list diamonds in "our wholesale diamond database", not to include "enhanced" diamonds. This database is strictly for the sale of Non-Enhanced diamonds, such as the kind you will find in your local jewelry store, or in most diamond databases online. With that said however, we are all humans and we are all capable of making mistakes. So it is theoretically possible that one could be listed by mistake. However even if an "enhanced" diamond is listed in this database by mistake, it will still inform you in the diamond's "Details" section whether it is enhanced. Please also be aware that GIA policy is to never certify "fracture-filled" clarity enhanced diamonds.

7) If you are selling me the diamond for your true wholesale cost, how are you making any money and what is the catch?

First of all, there is absolutely no catch to our "True Wholesale Prices On Diamonds" program. There is only one requirement that we have in order for you to buy a diamond at the "REAL WHOLESALE COST" from our database of loose diamonds. Buy one of our engagement settings. Unlike every other diamond business out there that "CLAIMS" to sell their diamonds at wholesale, WE REALLY DO. As long as they are marking up their diamonds even 1% before they sell that diamond to you, then it is not a true wholesale price. And you can be quite certain they are marking them up significantly more than 1%! We do not add a single penny of profit to the cost of the diamonds in our searchable database. The prices you see listed, are the EXACT SAME PRICES we pay for those diamonds. We only make a modest profit on the engagement setting that you are purchasing from us. But please be aware that any other company you buy a setting from, is also making a profit on that setting. The difference between them and us is that we stop there! No profit on the diamond at all with us....just sell it to you at cost. We would like to sell you the setting at cost too, if we could. But unfortunately if we make absolutely no profit at all, on anything, we won't be in business for very long. We do have bills to pay and families to feed too. The point is to make just enough profit for us to continue our business, and for you to benefit by saving as much money as possible.

8) What information do I need to give you?

You will see a form you will need to fill out with each diamond selection you choose. The form asks for your full name, phone number, email address, and there's a comments field. In the comments field it's very important that you tell us the item number to the setting you wish to purchase. If you are not interested in purchasing a setting from us, and would just like the loose diamond, then please tell us that instead. Supplying this information is important, not because we're fishing for personal information, but because it allows us to differentiate between who is serious and who is not, and allows us to turn our full attention to the serious buyer.

9) Do you charge shipping on your loose diamonds? What about duties, taxes and customs?

Shipping is free to the Continental United States. All areas that are not part of the Continental U.S. will be charged shipping. Shipping charges vary on a per person basis, so it's best to call or email us your location (address) so we can give you a specific price. We do not charge or pay for your country's duties and taxes. When shipping from one country to another there is always a tax that "your" country will charge. You will need to pay this tax to your country before you will be allowed to get your diamond. We will not issue a refund because you refuse to pay your country's tax and duties. Please do a search or call your local government office for the exact tax they will impose on you. Also please be aware that we can can not promise and/or guarantee a delivery time when sending outside the U.S. This is because your diamond will have to go through customs, so they can verify what you are receiving is legal to receive. Sometimes customs can hold your item for up to a week or more. If you wish to purchase a loose diamond, and/or a setting from us, and you are not in the Continental U.S. please allow yourself at least 3 weeks to a month for your item to get to you. Some customs offices are slow, some are fast.

10) Why are we selling our diamonds wholesale and not making a profit on them?

We are in the business of designing and hand crafting custom engagement rings for our customers. We enjoy it and we are very good at it. Our goal is to offer designer quality diamond engagement rings, at the lowest possible prices. By allowing you to purchase your center diamond at our cost, we benefit by selling more of our engagement rings. And of course you will benefit with huge savings on the center diamond that will be the showpiece of your new engagement ring. A true win-win!

11) Can I purchase just a loose diamond and get the same price if I buy one of your solitaire settings?

You may purchase a loose diamond from our wholesale database when you purchase a solitaire setting, however solitaire settings do not qualify for our "True Wholesale Pricing" program. If this is your wish please search our wholesale diamond database and submit the short 4 answer form. Once you have done that, just give us a call and talk to us. We will still sell you the diamond for less than you can get anywhere else.

12) How do I know that you are selling your diamonds for wholesale cost, how do I know they are cheaper?

Ahh, the big question! This is where you will need to do a little homework. Here's how a majority of the diamond sellers operate (We'll make it brief). They establish themselves as a diamond seller, jewelry store, etc. You work your way up to be recognized. Once you do that you are able to gain access to all the diamonds out there, at least what diamond distributors put in a database and upload. And that's the key and a very big deal. You see almost every diamond seller out there has access to the same database filled with 10's of thousands of diamonds from diamond distributors everywhere in the world. Every diamond seller has the ability to go into this database and choose a mark up percentage to whatever they see fit. Usually anywheres between 10% to 50% markup depending on the diamond. That's an amazing amount of money in most cases. At SecretDiamond we decided to put our markup at 0%. You are seeing exactly what every diamond seller online, and off see before they put thier markups in there. And that is what we are selling our diamonds at. 0% Markup.

The best way for you to actually see the amazing diference is to search our wholesale diamond database. Take note of the stock number, as well as your search criteria. Then find other diamond sites online, and compare that exact diamond price to ours. And Yes, you will more than likely see the exact same diamond, because most are putting up the same diamond database, which makes it easy for you to compare. When you see the difference, and believe me, you will. Add the price of the diamond price plus the cost of the setting you see here at SecretDiamond.com and then do the same elsewhere on the exact same diamond. That's how you will know just how much you are saving. And don't just stop at one website, go to many and compare.

13) I'm sad because the setting I want is on another site but their center diamond prices are too high?

That's not a problem. If you see another setting on another site that you absolutely love, just send us a picture of it. We can create it, in most cases for the same price or cheaper. This will allow you to purchase one of our wholesale diamonds at the wholesale price. If you love one of our settings and you would like alterations done to it, we can do that as well. Just give us a call and talk to us.

14) If I buy a diamond and an engagement ring setting from your business, do you set the center diamond for me?

Yes. When you buy the setting and the diamond from our company, we set the diamond in the ring for you. When we ship the item to you, it will be a completed engagement ring that will also include a ring box, and the diamond certificate if you buy a certified diamond from our database. If you would rather not have the diamond set, please let us know and we will be glad to ship the diamond and the engagement ring, without setting the center diamond. For customers that wish to purchase just an engagement ring setting, please note that all engagement ring settings are shipped with the "accent diamonds" already set. We do not ship "raw castings."
