(Eye Clean) By definition, diamonds with a clarity grade of I.F , VVS1, VVS2, VS1 , VS2 , SI1 , SI2 , are EYE CLEAN (clean to the naked eye OR clean to an unaided eye ) Some consider the SI3 clarity grade to be borderline. However in our experience, SI3 clarity grades will often fail to meet this criteria. Occasionally SI2 clarity grades can also be considered borderline. 10) What is Laser Drilled? Laser Drilled is a process by which a microscopic hole is created with a Laser Beam to reach an inner black carbon inclusion so it can be removed by boiling the diamond with a very strong acid. This is a fairly common procedure that cannot be detected by the naked eye, and sometimes may not even be detectable with magnification.
